Abstract: | Recognising education as a fundamental human right, a catalyst for socio-economic development, and a powerful tool for poverty reduction, this report offers a deep dive into public funding for education at the State level. The expectation is that the data generated will be used by policy makers to address current educational challenges, including the high incidence of Out-of-School Children (OOSC) in many parts of the country. Additional funding is crucial for school construction and the provision of basic amenities in schools, teacher recruitment and development, special needs education, educational technology, and monitoring, learning, evaluation, and research. |
