DELTA STATE STRATEGIC HEALTH DEVELOPMENT PLAN (2010-2015)

Abstract

In formulating the Delta State Strategic Health Development Plan (SSHDP), covering the period 2010 – 2015, detailed considerations were given to the need to have practical strategic objectives, interventions specifying what to be done to achieve the stated objectives, and activities that need to be undertaken to ensure that specified interventions are achieved. The SSHDP focused on Primary Health Care as the bedrock of healthcare service delivery, including linkages of service delivery to existing secondary health care facilities, especially the General and Central hospitals, emphasized managerial responsibilities at State, LGAs and the Communities for the operation and support of health care services.
