The security situation in Nigeria is as dire as it is diverse. Security is at the core of our existence as a country. Pressing security challenges abound including Ethno-religious crisis and terrorism in the North-East, armed banditry, cattle rustling and kidnapping in the Northwest, farmers and herdsmen crisis in North Central, secessionist and separatist agitations in the South-East and pipeline vandalism, oil bunkering, theft and cultism in the South South. Ensuring that there is security at the sub-national level would translate to peace in Nigeria as a whole. Security and sustainable Peace has been identified by the Forum as a key pillar to achieving National Unity and Prosperity.en_US
