Abstract: Budget realism warrants government to plan with realistic revenue projections (relying more on permanent revenues which represent an expected long-term average income), embrace good cash planning and expenditure prioritization, adopt procurement practices that guarantee greater efficiency in expenditure execution and consider expenditure rationalization where necessary to keep debt stock at a sustainable level.
