Abstract: The 2018 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) is the sixth Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) conducted in Nigeria, following those implemented in 1990, 1999, 2003, 2008, and 2013. The National Population Commission (NPC), in collaboration with the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) of the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), implemented the survey. Data collection took place from August 14, 2018, to December 29, 2018. Funding for the 2018 NDHS was provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Global Fund, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the World Health Organization (WHO). ICF provided technical assistance through The DHS Program, which assists countries in the collection of data to monitor and evaluate population, health, and nutrition programmes. This key indicator report presents a first look at selected findings from the 2018 NDHS. A comprehensive analysis of the data will be presented in a final report in August 2019.
